Endoscopy Unit
Activities:
- working since 1994
- all GI endoscopy diagnostics (including
enteroscopy, endosonography, ERCP, mother-baby) and therapeutic procedures (including EHL,
ESWL, APC, internal drainage of pancreatic pseudocysts)
- abdominal ultrasonography (US-guided
procedures)
- endosonography, EUS-FNAB
- X-ray guided percutaneous procedures (PTD,
percutaneous choledochoscopy, drainage of absesses, pseudocyst)
- pH monitoring, manometry,
electrogastrography
- 13C based breath tests
- home total enteral nutrition in GI patients
Clinical
Practice in Endoscopy Unit
- psychological approach to a patient, informed consent
- computer data and image processing
- risk patient identification (ECG monitoring)
- pulse oxymetry
- continuous venous access
- oxygen supply
- conscious analgosedation
- clinical monitoring of the patient by an experienced nurse during endoscopy
- recovery room
- cleaning & disinfection of endoscopes and usage of sterile accesories
