Education

The Faculty of Medicine of Charles University in Hradec Králové provides education for future holders of bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees in the medical sciences.

Education is provided by educators – experts in their respective fields and competent scientists.

Bachelor’s and Master’s study program

The Master’s study program includes a 6-year program in General Medicine and 5-year program in Dentistry. Foreign students have the possibility of studying programs in General Medicine and Dentistry in English.

 

The Bachelor’s study program is accredited in Nursing, in the subject field of General Nursing, and in the Specialization in Health Care in the subject field of Physiotherapy.

Education is provided in theoretical, preclinical, clinical and preventive fields. 

Theoretical departments equip students with elementary knowledge necessary for appropriate understanding of morphological, functional and pathological processes in the organism.

Departments, clinics and departments at the University Hospital instruct students in basic investigation methods, laboratory techniques, differential diagnostics and treatment principles. Great emphasis is placed on practical training.

Postgraduate study (Ph.D.)

Graduates of General Medicine, Dentistry or related scientific fields may continue postgraduate education in doctoral programs, both in Czech and English, either full-time or part-time.

Pedagogical expertise

The number of associate professors and professors is an important factor when considering the prestige of the school and the (re)accreditation of study programs.
 

Habilitation proceedings (proceeding to grant the title of associate professor) and proceedings for the appointment of Professors are processes to obtain scientific-pedagogical titles for university teachers.

The Charles University Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové pays great attention to habilitation and appointment proceedings.
