The Maxillofacial Surgery has the consulting rooms in building No. 11 (Dental Clinic, FNHK) and the in-patient part in building No. 16 (Neurosurgery Clinic of FNHK). Part of the Maxillofacial Surgery is specialized in counseling for orofacial oncology, a counseling center for jaw joint diseases and for maxillofacial surgery.
The Maxillofacial Surgery is focused on providing specialized care in the field of maxillofacial surgery for patients from the Hradec Králové Region. It provides diagnostics, treatment and after-treatment of severe, predominantly surgically treated head and neck diseases, jaw bone, salivary glands, lymph nodes, and other head and neck tissues. It works closely with other surgical disciplines (plastic surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric surgery and traumatology). Very close cooperation exists with the FNHK Oncology and Radiotherapy Clinic. Our Maxillofacial Surgery is also involved in the postgraduate training of physicians specializing in this field.
In addition, the Maxillofacial Surgery is largely responsible for the treatment of injuries of soft facial and facial skeleton including fractures of the ears and the frontal bone. Section also treats inflammation in the surrounding area. Section also specializes in the treatment of oral and tongue tumors, jaw bone tumors, eyelids, and tumors of large and small salivary glands. At the same time, we treat surgically skin tumors in the area of the head and neck. In cooperation with plastic surgeons we provide reconstructive surgery in the area of the oral cavity and face with free tissue transfer.
Section of Maxillofacial Surgery is accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic for teaching in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery.
