            The Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové is the oldest university in East Bohemia. It was

            first of the medical faculties immediately after World War II and became part of Charles U
            oldest university in Central Europe. As part of Charles University, it adheres to its code

            The Faculty is guided by the Strategic Plan of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove f

            the ideas of the university strategy, complements them and makes them concrete for the con
            Faculty of Medicine HK. The strategic plan builds on the long-term goals of the Faculty fr

            periods, as evidenced by the formulation of the Faculty's vision. At the same time, it spe
            strategic goals of future development in accordance with the demands placed on the faculty
            the current times and the issues of contemporary social development.

            The construction of the campus is a joint project of the Faculty of Medicine and the Facul

            of Charles University in Hradec Králové. The project called "MEPHARED Education and Resear
            Charles University in Hradec Králové" was created based on the decision of Charles Univers
            the difficult spatial situation and inadequate facilities of many faculties of Charles Uni

            long-term goal of both the Faculty of Medicine and the Faculty of Pharmacy of Charles Univ
            Králové is to create an organisational and spatial functional interconnection of the depar
            faculties with a simultaneous connection to the premises of the University Hospital Hradec

            one location. This will provide an environment for better teaching, science and research a
            connection between theory and practice.


            From July 2011 to September 2015, the project for the construction of the first building o
            campus (MEPHARED I) was implemented. The building of the Educational and Research Centre i
            was opened in 2015. Construction of the next campus buildings (MEPHARED II) will start in 

            a planned opening in 2026.
