Students from European Union (including EFTA - Island, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzer *========================================================================================= Residence of students from the European Union and EFTA (Island, Liechtenstein, Norway, Swi territory of the Czech Republic. As a member of the EU, you are not required to obtain any kind of visa to be able to come entrance examination. After your arrival to the Czech Republic you or your hotel/hostel provider must register y foreign police in Hradec Králové within 3 working days. This is absolutely necessary! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Voluntary ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ You are entitled (but not obliged) to apply for and to obtain a “resident alien permit”. • You might need this permit in some particular cases (registration of a car in the Czech driving licence, ...). • You apply for this permit at the local foreign police – the requirements are provided be • The permit is not time limited. • Should you move to another accommodation in Hradec Králové (or elsewhere), it is your du your new address to the foreign police. • Changes (including the change of the accommodation) are free of charge. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2. Required documents ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ For the “resident alien permit” the following documents must be submitted: • You will have to fill in an application for a short term residence (violet colour) • Document confirming purpose of your stay (study confirmation from the study department) • Health Insurance Certificate [ URL "LFHKEN-185.html "] – even though all health insuranc within EU should be recognized, you should check with your insurance company whether thi your particular insurance as well. If necessary, you should also take an additional insu hospital care. (In case of not being health insured from your country, there is a possib health insurance in the Czech Republic • Accommodation Acknowledgement – every change of your accommodation has to be proved • Passport (or ID you use for travelling) • 2 photographs bearing your current appearance (accoding to the Czech regulations) *========================================================================================= * B. Students from the „Third countries“ *========================================================================================= LONG-TERM RESIDENCE PERMIT MUST BE OBTAINED FOR STUDYING PURPOSES. Concerns residence of students from outside the EU and EFTA in the Czech Republic.   Please make sure that you apply for the long-term residence permit (application for visa a highly recommend the long-term residence).   Items required to be attached to an application for the residence permit shall not be olde days with the exception of your travel document.   You have to apply for the residence permit at the relevant Czech Embassy/Consulate in your Theoretically, you can apply at any Czech Consulate but there are limitations - please con Consulate for details (especially if you come from a country where no Czech Embassy/Consul ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Necessary documents: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1.The application form is available only at the Consulates and cannot be copied. You have Consulate and complete the form there with the help of their personnel. 2.A Health Insurance Certificate [ URL "LFHKEN-187.html "] to cover a particular period of Czech Republic and the proof of payment. This Insurance Certificate has to be arranged w insurance company in the Czech Republic. 3.Funds to cover your stay - please contact the Czech Embassy/Consulate on the required am 1.an internationally recognised credit card to certify that funds are available and can the Czech Republic. 2.a bank account statement in your name confirming that you are free to use funds in the amount. 4.A travel document - the validity period of your passport must exceed the period of stay Republic at least by 3 months; at some places (Africa, Asia) it must exceed the stay by 5.A document confirming the purpose of your stay in the Czech Republic - supplied by our s - document written mostly in Czech language headed "POTVRZENÍ O STUDIU” (recommendation residence permit). 6.A document confirming the guaranteed accommodation - also supplied by our students offic written mostly in Czech language headed “POTVRZENÍ”. 7.Photographs (3) - must show your current look. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------  System of the procedure ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ • Your documents will be sent to the Immigration Police in the Czech Republic. The applica processed here. • The entire procedure will take several weeks and when completed you will have to visit t second time with your passport to get the permit to come to the Czech Republic (it is no pick it up in the Czech Republic, and no exceptions can be made). • The residence permit provided by the Embassy is just "provisional" and allows you to ent Czech Republic and stay here for three days only. Should you lose the Biometric data card you will be charged 4.000,- CZK. Should you change some personal data you will pay 1.000,- CZK. You are adviced to have someone speaking Czech with you (at least for this first visit).    Please note that this initial residence permit is valid for one year, when applying for it may apply for two years.
