Professor Zelalem Temesgen from the Mayo Clinic in Rochester arrived on Monday, January 5, for his annual visit to the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové. He selected students who will go on their dream internship abroad at leading medical facilities in the United States.
On Monday, January 5, 2026, we will welcome Prof. Zelalem Temesgen from the prestigious Mayo Clinic (USA) to our faculty. Come and listen to his lecture titled HIVEXCEL: HIV Clinical Excellence Initiative, which will take place at the Educational Center (EC1) starting at 1:00 PM.
The first two students from our faculty travelled to the prestigious Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital as part of our new internship programme. An intensive week filled with clinical experience, ward rounds and exposure to advanced cardiology procedures proved to be an extraordinary professional step forward. Their positive feedback is great news for all future participants.
We would like to remind you that two elections to academic senates will be held on November 24–26, 2025: elections of representatives of our faculty to the Academic Senate of Charles University and elections of student representatives to the student section of our faculty's Academic Senate. At the end of October, students from Czech and English programs came together for Czech&English Meets, enjoying language practice, cultural exchange, and traditional Czech treats. Building on its success, Board Games Night followed in early November, with games like Dixit and Exploding Kittens sparking creativity, teamwork, and fun.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2025, a ceremonial meeting was held in the hall of the New Adalbertinum to mark the 80th anniversary of the founding of our faculty. The event was attended by representatives of the management of our faculty, Charles University, cooperating institutions, student associations, and other invited guests.

An international scientific team from Charles University, Faculty of Pharmacy and Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové has developed the world's first selective topoisomerase II beta inhibitors with the potential to protect the heart during chemotherapy.
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, a ceremony was held at the faculty building on Šimkova Street to celebrate students who submitted their work to the 71st Student Scientific Conference. The awards were presented by the Dean of the Faculty, Prof. MUDr. Jiří Manďák, Ph.D.
On April 15, the eighth Run for Life charity run took place in Šimkovy Sady. Once again, it showed how people can come together to help others. This year, 235 participants joined and raised 34,500 CZK to support four-year-old Filípek, who has cerebral palsy.
