            The Pulmonary Clinic is a clinical unit focused on acute and chronic respiratory diseases 

            mycobacterial infections in adult patients. At the same time, the Pulmonary Clinic provide
            procedures for adult and pediatric patients on a 24/7 basis. Beyond the above, the Lung Cl
            in sleep-disordered breathing (a pneumologist expertly leads the interdisciplinary Sleep D

            and Biorhythms Centre), is involved in pneumooncology and pneumoonchoscopy, focuses on adu
            fibrosis and cares for post-COVID patients (a pneumologist leads the interdisciplinary Pos
            Centre). The pulmonary clinic is composed of an outpatient and an inpatient part. The outp

            includes two general outpatient clinics, a long series of specialist consulting rooms, a b
            department and a functional diagnostics department, and last but not least an inpatient un

            outpatient administration of oncological and immunosuppressive therapy. The inpatient sect
            into a standard inpatient ward and an intensive care unit. The main four functions of the 
            Clinic are diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases, undergraduate and postgraduate

            clinical research and participation in the third role of the university (education of the 
            participation in volunteer work, etc.).

              Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (since 2012) and the pilot project for early detection of 
              population at risk in cooperation with the Czech Institute of Health Information Service

            • ASTMA research group - active in the field of difficult-to-treat and severe refractory a
              others, coordinating the activities of NCTA - National Centre for Severe Asthma in the C
              since 2008)

              the FN HK and at the same time coordinating the activities of multicentric monitoring of
              patients in cooperation with the Institute of Asthma of the Czech Republic (since 2021)


            Two other areas of clinical medicine are involved in research activities led by colleagues
            departments within the Czech Republic and the Lung Clinic department is part of a broader 

            (registry of patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis - EMPIRE, LUCAS research project 
            prospective follow-up of people with bronchogenic carcinoma).

            Creation of a unique guideline focused on diagnosis and treatment of COPD (in 2013 with an
