            The Department of Forensic Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové (CU MED H

            Hospital Hradec Králové provides complete forensic medical services for the region of Hrad
            The services provided include mainly autopsy services according to Act No. 372/2011 Coll. 
            Services and according to the Criminal Procedure Code (medical autopsies ordered by the ex

            and forensic autopsies ordered by law enforcement authorities):

            • performing autopsies of persons who died suddenly outside medical facilities

            • performing autopsies of persons who died violent deaths outside health care facilities, 
              autopsies of persons who died in health care facilities if their hospitalisation was ini

              external violence (e.g. deaths following traffic accidents or other injuries, intoxicati
              connection with assault by another person)
            • performing autopsies on persons who have died in custody or while serving a prison sente

            • performing autopsies on persons suspected of malpractice in the performance of health se
            • taking biological material at autopsy and examining it for the presence of alcohol and o
              narcotic or psychotropic substances (at the Department of Clinical Biochemistry and Diag

            • carrying out identification operations, testing of blood groups, biological traces, etc.

            The Department of Forensic Medicine also provides:


            • consulting and consultancy activities for health care facilities in the Hradec Králové R
            • professional and expert activities for the Police of the Czech Republic and other law en

              authorities (forensic autopsies in the event that the death of the injured person was or
              caused by a criminal act and expert opinions providing law enforcement authorities with 
              for the criminal-legal qualification of injury to health)

            • continuous consultation and outreach of doctors to the Police of the Czech Republic on t
              crime or the discovery of a dead body, including examinations of live patients in medica
            • undergraduate teaching of forensic medicine for 5th year students of general medicine an
