Securing of place and confirmation of study

Your place in the 1^st year of studies at our Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové will be guaranteed only upon specific conditions (sent via email to you) because our capacity is limited. By signing the confirmation form you acknowledge that you will fulfil the conditions for enrolment (completion of secondary school education entitling you to study at university) and come to Hradec Kralove to enroll into study on the date stated in the form.

Formal requirements necessary for the enrolment

Starting of the academic year

The academic year (obligatory lectures) starts on  October 1, 2025 at 8.00 a.m.

At the beginning of your study you will need 2 white laboratory coats (there will be a selling event of the lab coats at the faculty, therefore, you may buy them here) and overshoes (slippers) for practical classes.Matriculation

Official Matriculation is traditional and festive starting of the study at our faculty, which takes place on October 15, 2025.

You will need a formal dress for the ceremony.

Study materials

Please note that information in this section is up-dated for the new academic year usually during the holidays. Kindly check in the meantime.

• Textbooks for the 1^st year students

  • Please count with a deposit payment for borrowing the books from the medical library. The deposit of 10.000,- CZK is refunded when the textbooks are returned to the library and no others are required or after completion of the first year of your studies.

  • There is also an increasing number of electronic textbooks provided to students free of charge, when they are connected to the Faculty intranet.

  • Nevertheless, it is highly recommended that you build up your own professional library.

  • All of the textbooks should be available from the Czech Republic (you may see the bookseller Mega Books Int. (Prague) or click directly here Megabooks Hradec Králové, therefore, you do not need to buy them in your country.

  • You will find a list of literature for each subject in the Student Information System

    (SIS > Subjects > View by plans > Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Kralove > General Medicine//Dentistry > click on each subject and scroll down to Literature (Compulsory literature/Recommend literature)

You have two options:

• See Student´s Hostel and Canteen for the university hostel and/or hotel type of accommodation.

• If you prefer private accommodation, please contact directly a mediating agency www.forstudents.cz or www.foreigners.cz for renting possibilities.
